Business Process Management Consulting

Oriel Incorporated’s Business Process Management consultants collaborate with clients to ensure that their organization’s processes have a positive impact on critical business drivers. We guide organizations in designing, deploying, monitoring, and improving processes using a systematic process management methodology and toolkit that are completely integrated with Six Sigma and other process improvement models.

Oriel consultants are skilled in using our methods in a customized, pragmatic way to fit your organization’s culture and needs. We bring proven track records and expertise in leading process management, quality improvement, and measurement and monitoring activities in both small and large organizations.

Our consultants have years of experience in process-based thinking, facilitation, training, and mentoring. All possess exceptional analytical, oral, and written skills. Each is chosen for his or her ability to lead, work with teams, and understand team dynamics.

Oriel Incorporated and our consultants are on the leading edge of methodological advances in the field of process management, able to illustrate the practical relevance of these through case studies and applied examples. Our goal is to disseminate best practices and enhance our customers’ learning through a mixture of these combined with concepts, individual applications, and learning from the experience of others.

As a first step, we work with the management in client organizations to identify the most important business drivers. If necessary, we can conduct a market analysis so that we and the organization can better understand the contributors to customer satisfaction, market share, and profitability. We then identify the key organizational processes and perform an analysis to determine the potential impact that each process has on the organization’s bottom line. Next, we develop a plan to monitor and evaluate the performance of these processes. Additionally, recommendations for improvement are developed and areas for improvement are prioritized.

Based on the opportunities identified, our Six Sigma and Lean teams can work with selected teams in the organization to achieve quick improvements to performance. We can assist with individual project coaching or a full-scale deployment, supported by our improvement methodologies and toolkits.

Finally, our hands-on assistance continues as we conduct workshops and presentations to train employees on the use of selected process management tools, so that they understand the critical nature of process management. This training helps the organization to achieve the cultural changes necessary in order to continue to improve and sustain processes after the Oriel consultants have concluded their work there.

Linear Drive Controls Gas Flow

One of the most important applications of linear stepper and synchronous motors is their use in controlling valves. The new Saia EGD Series demonstrates that linear stepper functionality can be used with great value in the gas valve industry.

The seal between the mechanical system for producing linear motion and the current carrying coils of the linear motor is achieved via a stainless steel shaft. This type of drive enables direct linear movement of the valve balls in the gas without imposing mechanics. To achieve maximum possible energy efficiency, the drive is controlled so that it only absorbs power when moving and the adjusting rod maintains its instantaneous position automatically. The fine stepped resolution of > 600 steps over the whole range ensures high control accuracy. The drive is extremely compact with a stator diameter of only 28 mm, and with 500,000 cycles of operation, both life and reliability are achieved.

There are two types of EGD motors available; the EGD 403 gas tight linear motor with push pull movement and the EGD 421 which also incorporates a safety function by means of an integral return spring in the event of supply failure. These motors are ideal for use in boilers, heaters and other gas valve applications.

Manufacturing Motors

Looking for motors like steppers motors or synchronous  motors try the motors from Saia.

Johnson Electric offers a full line of stepper motors, synchronous motors, gear motors and linear motors, highlighting design specs, CAD drawings and technical data.

Rotary synchronous motors are available in nine sizes. They are unirotational motors that can operate in reversible direction (cw = clockwise and ccw = counter clockwise).

Wide range of standard motors with running torque 0.06 up to 14.2 cNm
Diameter 13 mm up to 64 mm
Life rating of 25,000 hours
Saia rotational synchronous motors utilize a direct main power supply, offer long life, high reliability and offer definite advantages in many applications. “read more”
Use the selection overview chart below to determine which size offers the desired performance and mechanical specifications. Please refer to the individual specification pages for complete performance and mechanical data.
Specified data for torque values is valid for:
Specified maximum values and overloading is not permissible
100% duty cycle
an ambient temperature of 23 ±5¡C
Max. load torque must be lower than specified
At rated voltage
Please refer to the individual size specification pages for product approvals. Smaller motors than diameter 28 are made from UL approved materials. Larger motors are UL/CSA approved.

If duty cycle or actual maximum ambient temperature is lower than specified in our data sheet, the motor can be designed with higher performance by using a different winding.

Motor type UDS is a special design: It has only one coil, but is fitted with an internal ratchet. This ratchet determines the direction of rotation. A capacitor is not necessary.
